decorating eggs

this year we decided to blow out our eggs instead of boiling them. Jay's cheeks were sore at the end of it. we all had fun decorating the eggs. this year instead of dunking them dye we got a kit to paint them, put sparkles and stickers on them.

the kids had a lot of fun on sunday. they had kd and chicken nuggets and finger jello. they made chalk pictures and blow bubbles played hopscotch. auntie helped Zander make snowball to throw at everyone. it was a good day

Dance competition

I spent a long time friday night doing Ember's hair, It had to be in a high pony tail with ringlets. once i had it done I put a pair of nylons on her head to keep everything in place. the competition was a long day, the had to be there at 9 am and were not done until 4:30. Ember had fun and she placed second in both jazz and tap.

Valentine's day Queen

At Ember's school they had a dance and other activites on valentines day, for grades one thru six. At the dance Ember was crowned the queen and a boy in grade four was named the king. I am not sure how the queen and king were picked. Ember felt very special. some of her classmates were bowing at her feet. It was a very good day for her.

Zander was doing very well using the potty, and then all of a sudden decided he didn't want to. he his now back to using the potty but he likes to have a buddy sit with him until he is done. He will put his arm around your neck, kinda in a head lock if you try and leave.

Big Air Insanity Tour

Jason won four tickets for the big air insanity tour by knowing what kind of fish 'Dory' was in the cartoon finding Nemo. I guess it pays off to watch cartoons with the kids. Ember didn't want to come with us because she thought it would be boring, so it was just me, dad and the boys. zander seemed to like it, Zane was just busy watching everyone and everything. They did really good until around ten o'clock and then they were both tired and cranky. We got to see the BMX bikes as well as the motor cross bikes doing tricks. my pic of the BMX bikes did not turn out. they all went so high in the air it was and did some crazy tricks. the big trick of the night was the back flip.

Snow Planes

On Saturday, we were able to go south of town and see some snow planes. They were different vechicles, they were kinda like a tappered car on ski and had propeller on hte back. They were uesed in the 1930- 1940 when there were no rodes for cars to travel on in the winter. We were able to ride in the red one. It sat four, the driver, two people on the next seat and one in the back. There was no heater just a couple of fans to try and keep the windows clear to see out of. It was nosiey and a little bumpy. It went about 25 miles a hour. Ember and Zander thought it was fun and had to go on it twice, once with mom and once with dad. Zander wanted to keep going and was a little upset that we had to leave.

Zane's Birthday

Look whose one

it was Zane's birthday on Sunday, I can't believe he is already one. we had cake, icecream and presents at our house. Grandma and Grandpa, Auntie Val, Auntie Laura and Uncle Wilf and J'nea Mike and the kids all came out. It was a good day.

Ember's Room

When we moved Ember got to pick which room she wanted. These pictures shows what the room was like when we move in. All the furniture and wall hangings were left. Ember liked the flowered wallpaper and the big bed.
















Ember got a lot of things for her room at Christmas time. She got posters, wall decals, beaded curtians, a clock (all Bratz). I told her to wait to put the stuff up until we painted the room. so last weekend we decied to redecorate her room. Ember picked out the paint color. we painted the dressers white so they would look better in her room. Now it looks more like a little girls room don't you think.
