Jr G.I Joes

Ember's cousins Jacob and Anthony really wanted to get some army gear for Christmas and they got their wish. On boxing day they got shirts, hats and face paint. They had to try on their stuff on right away and had fun playing army men for quite a while. Ember didn't want to be left out but she didn't want to be an army guy like her cousins. She diecided she was going to be the army cat, then she changed it to the army ferret.

Future hockey star

Uncle Kevin took Jacob, Anthony, and Ember outside to burn off some energy on Boxing Day. The kids were having a hard time waiting to open gifts so they needed a distraction.

The weather was too nice for them to go skating outside, but they were able to play street hockey.

Boxing Day

We went down to Weyburn to get together with my side of the family. We have a big potluck style dinner were everyone is in charge of bringing something.

The adults have a $10.00 gift exchange, where no one is sure who gets what gift. This year we played a new game Dayna read a story were everyone passed a gift to the right or to left when they heard the words right and left in the story. Dayna had to read the story slowly so no one got mixed up.

The kids got spoiled from everyone buying them gifts.

The adults played several different games chracnole, taboo and a what if game.

Christmas Day

After all the presents were opened we spent time playing with all the toys. I was able to to a little scrapbooking, Jay spent time playing with his new cell phone, and the kids in their room with thier toys.

After Zander got up from his afternoon nap we went out to Laura and Wilf's to visit. It was early enough when we got out there that Ember was able to go skating for a little bit. Uncle Wilf gave her some pointers and she was skating about 50ft all by herself.

After they came back from skating the attention was turned to the hockey table. Jay and Wilf played a few games, Wilf won every game I think. Ember had to play too, she challenged Uncle Wilf, Auntie Laura, Dad and Mom. She played until she got ten goals and had a lot of fun.

They also had nerf air dart guns that everyone was playing with. Ember had fun shooting at Dad. I had one of the best shots when I got Jay right in the middle of the forehead. It even left a red mark for a couple of hours. ha ha

Zander spent his time stealing candies off the gingerbread house and playing with Auntie Laura's snowmen.

Christmas Morning

We were hoping to sleep in a little today but we were out of luck, the kids were up at 7am and ready to start unwrapping gifts. It took a couple of minutes for us to get out of bed and it seemed like forever for Ember.

We started with opening the kids stockings, then Mom and Dad's then the critters. Then we moved on to the big gifts. The kids had fun and were very happy with their gifts. Zander got tired of opening gifts, he just wanted to play so he still has a present or two to open.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we put out our stockings, and get cookies and milk ready for Santa like most people do. We also put out magic reindeer food. It is a mixture of oats and glitter. The glitter sparkling in the moonlight and the smell of the oats will guide Rudoph to our home.

We also read "Twas the night before Christmas" to the kids. Why the kids are standing on the coffee table and Jay is standing up I am not sure. You will have to ask Jay.

We also let the kids open up one small gift each after supper and they get to play with it until bed time. Ember got a winx doll from Zander and Zander got a littlest petshop play set from Ember.
