Silver Star & BX fallls

These pics are of Silver Star ski resort. All of the buildings were painted bright colors, something we are not use to seeing. We went for a little walk and took in the view. We were surpised by the temp change when we got there, it was chilly and the kids wanted a sweater, which I didn't bring because it was so nice when we left the house.

We hiked down a little path to get to BX falls. It was not a huge waterfall, but it was very nice, there. We stayed for a while and the kids played in the water at the bottom of the falls. They though the waterfall was cool and had a lot of fun. Zander wanted to go across to the other side of the little stream to be like the big kids. I tried to carry him across and fell. I ended up getting three stiches on my foot and a swollen knee. At least it was me that got hurt and not one of the kids. Zane didn't want to get his picture taken at all on this day.

The Enchanted Forest

We stopped here on our way out to Vernon BC. It was walking paths with cement ornaments of nursery rhyme and story book characters. The kids had a lot of fun, looking at everthing and going inside all the houses.
The castle was the first thing we stopped at inside the park. In the basement of the castle was a dungen, it was dark and kinda scarry but the kids had to go and see it a couple of times.

This is one of the little houses that the kids where able to go into, I can't remember whice house this was, maybe the three bear's house.

At the end of the park there was a place to feed the ducks. The baby ducks came close enough that Ember was able to touch one of them.

Student of the Year!!

Ember won Student of the year two years in a row! Great Job Ember, we are so proud of you!

A Bug Story

The grade 1-3's put on a play called " A Bug Story". It was about a bunch of bugs that were going to a picnic and didn't want the stink bug to come. The bugs ended up finding a way to include the stink bug in the picnic. Ember was the stink bug. I took a video of it but it is too long to post on here. If you want to see it let me know and i can show it to you sometime.

Baby bunnies

We went out to visit Kevin, Tosha and the boys out in Griffin. They boys had got three bunnies in the spring, and the bunnies had babies a couple of times. this is some of first babies born, i think they were born around Easter time.

This is Ember holding all seven of the little baby bunnies that are about three weeks old. I was surprised how small they were. they were really cute.

all of the kids ended up crawling inside the cage to see the rabbits, the pic with all of the kids didn't really turn out.

Ember's Track day

Ember had a good day at track this year. She got three firsts and four seconds in the indivdual competions. She had to compete against kids the same age as her. they also had team competions. All the team names were names of music bands, Ember's team was Led Zeppelin. She had never even heard of the band. Each of the teams were made up of kids from kindergarden up to grade six. Ember's team had the most points at the end of the day, and they won first place for the team competions.

this is when they found out they won first for the team.

Tree Removal

This tree was in our back yard and over half of it was dead, so we decided to remove it. it will open up the yard a lot when it is all done.


Jay is lucky and is able to bring home equipment from work to help with jobs like this. this machine really old and not in the best shape, but it got the job done

now we need to level it and seed it to grass. it should look good when it is done.

Ember's Birthday

I can't believe my little girl is now 9 years old. This year her birthday party theme was a game board party. she invited all of the girls in her class, a total of 11 girls plus Ember. then the grade three girls stayed for a sleep over ( 4 plus Ember). it was a lot of fun but really really loud.
we got Ember a DS lite and a game, and she got a lot o money so she will probably by another game and accesories for it. She also got some webkinz, and board games.

her birthday cake is a checker board, to go along with her theme of board games.

dance video's

these are video's taken at the kids dance recital in April. Ember took hip hop, jazz, tap and did a duet this year (4 video's). Zander took tap (i video). They did a lot of practicing, and put a lot of work learning the dances. I hope you enjoy seeing the video's.

4- H

Sunday was achievement day for 4-H. for those who don't know that is the day that the kids take their record books and projects they have made to be judged. Ember got first place ribbons for her record book and christmas ormament. I was a craft leader this year, it was a learning experince to say the least. I had 14 girls some where in grade 2 and others that were in grade 7. It was hard to try and find stuff that everyone would want to do, and would be capable of doing. We made a total of 11 crafts over six months.

Ember's new hair cut

Ember has wanted a hair cut for awhile, but I told her that she had to wait until after dance was done. I had to put her hair in a high pony tail with ringletts for dance and if she got it cut short, I wasn't sure how to accomplish that. these are her before pics

My dad's birthday

It was my dad's birthday on Thurday he turned 89. the kids and I went down for supper and cake. it was a nice visit but short, we were only there for a couple of hours.


dad is looking at the scrapbook Val made for him with all of his army pics in it. she did a really good job.

Zane didn't want to get his picture taken with the other kids so I got one of him and Grandpa when he wasn't really paying attention.
