Ember's catch of the day

We went fishing in Weyburn on Saturday. We were just fishing off the shore by a bridge along the river. Ember caught his fish on her second cast of the day. It is the first fish she has ever caught.

New Window

We finally got the new window in, it has only been sitting around since February. We had to replace the small stain glass window because it was leaking and was full of ice in the winter. I have kept the stain glass window and I want to put it somewhere else just not sure where to put it yet. If you have any ideas let me know.

It really makes a difference. Now we just have to put the trim around the window on the inside and repaint the walls. Once that is done i will post pics of what the inside looks like.

August Long Weekend

Jay took a couple of extra days off so we started our weekend on Wednesday. We headed to Rivers Manitoba to visit with Grandpa Barry and Grandma Hazel.

We left Rivers onFriday and headed to the lake to camp with Christine, Tim and Teagan. It was cold and rainy while we were camping so the kids didn't get to play in the lake at all. It just started to get nice out just when we were packed up and ready to go. On the way to the lake we stoped in Gladstone and took a couple of pics.

Saturday we went to Rosenfeld and went of a family reunion on Sunday. We had a rough copy of the Johann and Maria (Fehr) Reimer book for everyone to look at. Everyone seemed to be quite happy with the way it turned out.

We headed home Monday, it was a long trip. We had a flat tire on the trailer so we had to stop and put on the spare. We drove for another hour or so, and the other trailer tire was flat. We had to leave the trailer on the side of the road and dirve 45 mins to the next town, get the tires fixed and then drive back to the trailer. we were all glad when we got home.

When we stopped for lunch we got out and moved around for a few mins and took a couple of pics

Buffalo Pound park

We had fun at the beach making sand castle's. Zander had a bad guy castle with all its evilness.

we buried all three kids with sand, they had fun but it didn't last long

Ember was the queen of her castle, she had made a throne to sit on in the middle of her castle.

The kids had fun in the boat even though it wa really windy. They had fun with the big waves and floating away.

Our first boating experience

Jay pick up a fishing boat this spring and we took it out for the first time on Sunday afternoon. They boys were kind of scared to get in at first but neither of them wanted to get out at the end of the day. We tried a little fishing, we didn't have much luck. Ember had a fish on her line but didn't realize it until she looked down and seen it by the side of the boat when she was reeling in her line. She got really excited but the fish got away before we got it in the boat. Maybe we will have better luck next time.

Jay's Trip

When the kids and I went to BC for a holiday, Jay went down to Louisiana to see Courtney and Austin. He took lots of pictures and we would love to show everyone but the kids asked us not to put them on the blog so we are respecting their wishes. If you want to see the pictures you will have to come for a visit and take a look at the photo album.

Calgary Zoo

We spent a few hours here while we waited to pick Jay up at the airport. This was the first time the kids had been to a zoo so they liked looking at all the different animals. We will have to go back again sometime and spend more time there.

Fun at the Beach

We spent a lot of time at the beach during our week. We went to three different beaches, on of them we drove about 10 min to get to the other two were in view of J'nea's house. The water was so clear, something we are not use to living in southern Sask. The kids spent more time playing in the sand then in the water as the water was a little cool. The kids loved going and kept asking when we were going to go to the beach again, sometimes right after we got back to the house.

Polson Park

We went to this park to see the giant clock and to feed the ducks. The design on the clock is made flowers and every year it has a different design. The clock was not working the day we went but normally it tells the correct time.
